Get in the Christmas Spirit! **20% OFF DEAL!**

Have you started thinking about Christmas yet?  It will be here before you know it!  I mean...it's still 85 degrees where I live, but Christmas is still just around the corner!  And wouldn't this sign look great hanging on your front door with your family's name on it?  Or maybe you want something unique to give to a friend?  This could be yours!  It's just waiting to be personalized.  If you don't want a name on it, it could say "Welcome" or "Fa la la" or "Merry & Bright"...whatever melts your butter!  This 10"x20" canvas is for sale for $35.  And if this one sells before you get a chance to grab it up - don't worry!  I can make more!

But wait!  There's more!  I'm trying to get this little ol' business going, so if you "like" my facebook page (Creative at Heart Art), between now and November 23 (Black Friday!) I will give you 20% off your first order placed by that date.  If you've already "liked" my page, then thanks so much and I will still give you this offer as well!  Good deal, huh?  So start thinking about who might like their very own custom painting for Christmas!

Mini Monograms

I'm a part of a group called MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) at my church.  I made these little 6"x6" gifts for the fun girls who sit at my table each week.  I love how each of their personalities are reflected in their favorite colors.  I hope they will enjoy these and find a little spot that needs some color where they can hang them.

Christmas is around the corner!  These would make great gifts for teachers, friends, Secret Santas, you name it!  And remember...I would love to customize something just for you!

Pumpkin Welcome Sign **FOR SALE**

This is a 10"x10" Welcome sign.  I think this would look very nice on a front door or sitting in an entry way on a plate display holder.  I can add a ribbon to hang it with if you like.  The highlighting on the letters is pearl.  $25 + tax and shipping (if out of area).

Baby Girl Butterflies

Aaron's aunt and uncle recently adopted a sweet baby girl.  So I did what any normal person does...I stalked their baby registry!  They picked out a cute crib bedding set from WalMart, so I painted this to match.  I hope they will enjoy this and I look forward to meeting Miss Myranda one day!

Here's the bedding from WalMart:

Result of boredom

I got bored one afternoon and this is what happened!  Now I have a little bit of color to add to my office.

I really like the metallic silver paint.  It gives it a little "pop!"

It's a jungle out there!

I mentioned in my very first post that I started painting when I was decorating my son's nursery.  These are the animal paintings for his room.

Even though we knew we were having a boy I wanted something pretty gender-neutral with lots of bright colors.  (Side note: Have you ever seen a giraffe run?  It's really beautiful to see such a huge creature move silently and gracefully!  We saw one running at a wild-life preserve and it was so cool!)

These will always be special to me!  Ezra loves to point at them and have me tell him what animal each one is.

happy fall, y'all!

Here's a nice sign that can be hung on your front door or in your house for fall.  Fall is my favorite season!

This particular sign is going to be a door prize at my MOPS meeting this Friday, but if you like it I'd be happy to paint another.  In fact, I'm making another for my front door!

Splish, Splash!

Aren't these little crabs cute?  I can't take credit for them.  Ezra's bathroom needed some color, so I bought a new shower curtain with an ocean scene.  These little guys match!

More sea creatures!  These were really fun to paint!  One day we'll get all of these hung, but apparently our walls are built out of steel or something because it's really hard to find screws that will go more than about a quarter of an inch into the wall.  When we get it figured out I'll post more pics (including the shower curtain)!

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to my blog!  This is the painting that made me decide to finally take the plunge and start my own business!  Not to brag...but I just love it!  The colors and patterns make me happy!

Ok, let's back up for a sec.  When I was a kid I loved anything artsy.  I didn't care about dolls and I never once played a team sport, but if markers or beads or drawing were involved, I was your girl!  Well, as you grow up people become less impressed with your coloring skills, so I didn't do much arts and crafts for a while.  But before my son was born I wanted some cute artwork for his walls (more on this later!), so I bought some supplies and sat down to paint.  I had so much fun!  Finally I had discovered coloring for grown-ups!  When it was time to throw a shower for my sweet friend who is adopting little Riley Ann, I saw a picture of her crib bedding and I knew I had to paint something to go with it!  So I sat down to paint again and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.  I gave this gift at the shower and several of the ladies asked me if I sold my art.  When I said no they encouraged me that I should.  Since I can only paint so much for my own house I decided why not?  Hopefully I can have some fun and make a little money while I pretend to be a 7-year-old girl again!

I hope you will enjoy my paintings.  Oh, and Riley Ann comes home this week!  God is good and we can't wait to meet her!

Here is the crib bedding.  Love!
